mmob wins Partner of the Year at UK Fintech Awards for embedded on-demand pay with Level

On Thursday 25 April 2024, mmob was declared winner of the Fintech Partner award at the UK Fintech Awards.

The UK Fintech Awards is an annual celebration of fintech companies and individuals in the UK, and this year’s winners included Moneyhub, ClearBank, Wise, Enfuce and Allica Bank.

The award was given for mmob’s partnership with Level Financial Technology, an Earned Wage Access provider.

mmob’s Associate Product Manager Laura Trearty accepted the award alongside Level’s CMO Archie Heaton and Product Manager Kayley Miller, from comedian Rob Beckett who hosted the evening.

Level Financial Technology offers an on-demand pay solution so that employees can access their pay as they earn it, rather than at the end of the month. Through On-Demand Pay, Payroll Savings and Income-Based Budgeting, Level’s toolkit enables businesses to empower their employees to manage their money flexibly throughout the month.

mmob's universal API adaptor transforms the APIs of product and service providers into a single snippet of code, which can be fully customised and launched into the UX of any app or website in under two hours, with just one junior developer needed. This significantly cuts down the time and cost of integrating solutions like early wage access with a variety of partners.

Together with mmob, Level can offer fully embedded earned wage access within a variety of digital channels. This way, employers and agencies can give their staff the option to draw down some of their salary early when they need it – all within their existing employee or payroll platform.

The UK Fintech Awards judging panel said of the solution:

“This winner has been chosen because their entry focused on discussing the client relationship. The problem they advanced, wage solution, is a topical problem; allowing people to access their wages is an innovative solution, and is solving a need a lot of people face.”

Irfan Khan, CEO of mmob, added:

“Successful partnerships are key to mmob’s offering as we work closely with our partners to empower them to offer fully integrated solutions. We seek to truly collaborate with embedded service providers and we’re delighted that the UK Fintech Awards has recognised this.

“Our solution not only saves time and cost for API-first companies, but speeds up the go-to-market of their products and enables providers to quickly embed within multiple partner channels, generating network effects and increasing revenue opportunities.

“We are particularly proud to be working with Level Financial Technology as a great example of opening up new tools to end users who want to manage their money better. With mmob’s support, employers can now launch Level’s solution for their employees in a matter of hours.”

Archie Heaton, CMO of Level, commented:

“Enabling workforce management providers to add On-Demand Pay to their apps, rather than making staff download another, allows us to reach even more employees. That’s why, working with mmob, we offer the UK’s only On-Demand Pay API. It’s a partnership that’s already helping thousands of UK workers borrow less and save more. We couldn’t be prouder of it and we’re glad the judges agreed.”
